The New York International Motorcycle Show
The NJ Renegades “womaned” the “Women In Motorcycling” booth at the New York International Motorcycle Show on Saturday, January 29th. The booth was sponsored by the Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation. The purpose of being at the show was to raise awareness of, and promote the various women’s motorcycling organizations and encourage membership. Additionally, we were selling raffle tickets to raise money for breast cancer research (Komen for the Cure). Among the wonderful prizes to be raffled off were a Jimmy Pag custom motorcycle, and a motorcycle tour in Europe! The NJ Renegades Chapter was joined at the booth by two other WITW chapters on Saturday, the Dozen Dames of NYC and the Long Island Chapter. Also promoting women’s organizations were the Motor Maids, the Sirens NYC, Women on Wheels, Spokeswomen, and others.

Toys For Tots - November 2007
Beth, Paige, Lesley and Deb participated in the Bergen County Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run on Sunday, November 11th. Heading out at 10AM for Lowes in East Rutherford turned out to be a very chilly ride with the temps never getting out of the 40's but we bundled up and stayed as warm as we could. At least Deb had some help in the way of heated hand grips but some other nether regions were getting a sharp blast of cold air at 65mph on Route 80.
We arrived safe but chilled and headed over to register and get some hot coffee which was provided free of charge by the MoonDoggie Café. Hmmmm, good coffee and it sure hit the spot. KSU at 11:30 for a short backroads ride over to the Orange Lantern in Paramus for the donation of the toys and a nice buffet lunch for all the participants. The ride was police escorted and was being blocked by the Wingmen Motorcycle Club who all did an excellent job and all arrived safely.
Once at the Orange Lantern the Wingmen formed a "toy brigade" and began to unload a packed trailer from front to back and floor to ceiling of what I was told to be $9,000.00 worth of toys for the tots. This is the 2nd annual Bergen County Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run and even more successful than last year. We plan on keeping this an annual event for the NJ Renegades to participate in each November.
The members of the Wingmen have invited the NJ Renegades to visit their clubhouse which holds a open house every 2nd Friday of the month, they even gave us "chips" to get the "first one" on the house.
All in all it was a great day for a ride for a very worthwhile cause.

. Women In The Wind Summer Nationals 2007 - Middleton, WI by Deb Hosted by the Sisters of the Moon Chapter Attended by: Deb and Lesley
Lesley and I met at 9AM at Truckstop Johnnie’s in Neptune, NJ for our trek to Middleton, WI for the WITW Summer Nationals hosted by the Sisters of the Moon chapter. We made a detour to Pickerington, OH to visit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. Not something I would recommend if it meant making a detour but if you’re ever in the area it’s not a bad way to spend some time and money. On the 3rd day of the trip we ran into some bad weather that was pretty fierce, the upside is that it only lasted about 6 minutes and we just happen to have already pulled into a rest area for a bathroom break and snacks. Once the storm passed we saddled up and headed out, we ran into some more rain but nothing like the strength of the storm at the rest area so we pushed on since we only had slightly over 100 miles to go to our final destination. Luckily for us we were able to get our rooms even though we arrived a day earlier than our reservations. We met some ladies from a Canada chapter in the lobby who recommended an Irish Pub for dinner, good choice. The next day we headed to the hospitality suite to register and check out the logo items for sale and pick up our goody bags. On the schedule was a BBQ at the local HD, we got directions in our goody bag and headed out to find our way, well after a few wrong turns with Becky Brown following us (not to much pressure) we finally arrived and had some Wisconsin cheese of course and some brat. We ventured over to the dealership and while I did a little “window shopping” Lesley made a purchase. We headed back to the BBQ for another bite to eat and luckily for me to find my lost earring – FOUND IT! The next day was an all day ride through very rural farm lands, these roads were totally awesome but made me appreciate the ability to run to the store to get some milk and be home again within 15 minutes. The people who live out in these are definitely have to plan ahead. We stopped by “Wild Things” and both purchased some sheepskin seat covers for our rides and then headed over to the Rockton Bar for some BBQ. On the way back to Middleton we stopped at Culver’s Custard for some very refreshing sweets. Once back in Middleton we attended the officers meeting and then went on over to Quaker Steak for bike night and a WITW only bike show. Lots and lots of bikes, a live band, and vendors, puts our bike nights to shame but then again we have a longer riding season so I think I’d rather stay here. Last full day was the general meeting and closing banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn. Everyone gathered for a group shot after the general meeting; except for me who ran back to the hotel to get my camera, guess I didn’t run fast enough so not only am I not in the shot I didn’t get one of everyone else either. Oh well there’s always the next Nationals. I was given a “First to Register” award at the banquet, and enjoyed some great food, we stayed for the 50/50 drawing that we both lost and then headed back to our hotel to get in a good nights sleep and start the packing process once again. We got home in only 2 days taking the most direct route and arrived home happy, dirty, sore, slightly fatigued, and with great memories.
