Hi everyone. I’m one of the founding members of the NJ Renegades Chapter. In 2005 I took the MSF course with a friend, just for shits and giggles. I’d only been on a motorcycle once – on the back. But my friend and I were approaching age 40, and she wanted to say she had ridden a motorcycle, so I went along with her.

I haven’t looked back since! Shortly after taking the MSF course, I bought a used Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe 600 named “Delilah” and joined Women in the Wind. My chapter sisters were there to give me, a new rider, the nurturing I needed, as well as the constructive criticism I needed to become a better rider. “Delilah” gave me the skills and confidence required for two wheels.

In 2006 I was taking my first road trip to New England and needed a bigger bike. I bought a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT that I named “Selene.” Over 33,000 miles and a million smiles later, I bought a 2016 Victory Vegas, named “Roxi.” I’m looking forward to many more adventures with her!

There was an ad in ‘70’s that said, “You meet the nicest people on a Honda.” I’d have to change that to say, “You meet the nicest people on a motorcycle.” I’ve been incredibly lucky to have met so many wonderful people through motorcycling, and have challenged myself in so many different ways. I’m proud of the friendships we’ve forged in the NJ Renegades Chapter and Women in the Wind. I’m happy to call these women my sisters.

Look for the NJ Renegades on the roads. And when you see me riding with my “helmet hair” ponytails flapping in the breeze, give a little “beep beep” or wave!
