Jackie
Hi Everyone – my name is Jackie and I started riding in 1997. I currently ride a 2013 Harley-Davidson Super Glide.
My love of motorcycles began when I was a kid, riding my best friend’s red Honda mini-bike through the woods near our houses. After my first ride on that thing I was in love, and saw that bike in my dreams every now and then well into my 30’s until finally I was able to buy a bike of my own. I started with a Yamaha V-Star 650 and eventually bought a Kawasaki Vulcan Custom 800, which I was crazy about until it met with an untimely fate. Eventually I bought my Sportster, but didn’t have much free time to ride, and not many people to ride with, until I found the Women in the Wind – NJ Renegades Chapter, and joining was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
After participating in numerous rides with the group to different states, I decided that I wanted a bigger bike so I traded in my Sportster for my current bike, which I absolutely love.
The camaraderie within the group and the feeling that I am part of a family is fantastic. I’ve never met a nicer, more patient, and more generous group of women. We ride often, whether it be a short joyride for ice cream, a charity event, or an all-day ride heading out of state for a few days. In between we have game nights, dinner outings, holiday parties, birthdays – any excuse to have some fun and plenty of laughs.
If you’re a female rider looking for a group to ride with (and a surrogate family), join us!
